How to activate the two-factor authentication?

Summary

You can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in your Cryptonow account settings to add an extra layer of protection. Once activated, you’ll need both your password and a unique code from an authentication app to log in — ensuring only you can access your account.

Enabling 2FA is one of the most effective ways to secure your Cryptonow account. It combines something you know (your password) with something you have (your phone). Even if someone gets hold of your password, they won’t be able to log in without your unique authentication code.

Steps to activate 2FA

  1. Log in to your Cryptonow account.

  2. Go to «Settings» → «Security».

  3. Find the section labeled «Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)».

  4. Click «Enable 2FA».

  5. Open your preferred authentication app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy).

  6. Scan the QR code shown on your screen with the app.

  7. The app will generate a 6-digit code — enter this code in the verification field.

  8. Click «Confirm» to complete the setup.

Once activated, 2FA will be required every time you log in to your account.

Important information

  • Each 6-digit code is valid for only 30 seconds and can be used once.

  • Cryptonow cannot recover your 2FA codes — if you lose access to your app, contact Support for a reset.

  • Store your backup codes securely (offline or in a password manager).

  • If your phone’s date or time is incorrect, your 2FA codes may not work.
